The Baptisia plant catching a little sun on the top half this morning.
Using Project 365 (a photo a day for an entire year!) as a way to motivate me to take photos more often, focus on what it is I am taking photos of and learn in the process. Doing a blog along with it to help to document the process while trying to keep my vulnerability in check. Constructive criticism is always welcome.

Day 150, Project 365
It seems like such a milestone day - 150... One hundred and fifty days straight of taking a photo. Crazy!
Family gathering tonight at our house - good times! Got to see my adorable Godson, AJ, and snap a couple of the little cutie.

Day 149, Project 365
I took a picture for 5/29, I swear - am just late getting it posted!
My youngest participated in Relay for Life on 5/29. The weather was less than ideal, however, a large group stuck it out through the miserable rain, dropping temps and wind. Proud of the kids and their dedication. Kait's team this year was 'Cancer Cops'; unfortunately because of the weather most kids had sweatshirts, jackets, etc. on so you can't really see their shirts.

Day 146, Project 365
We've had a stretch of some gloomy weather. I thought today I'd try and capture it somehow but I don't think I was very successful...I'd love to have gotten my hands on a little kid with some rain boots and captured him or her splashing away. :)

Gloomy, rainy day but still got some photos in.
How much is that doggy in the window...?

Day 143, Project 365
Peeking out of a box today was my grandma's crystal bud vase so I clipped a couple of lilac blossoms and stuck them in the vase for a little sight and smell of spring indoors.
I had always loved the little bud vase and was beyond excited when I came across it while cleaning out my uncle's house this last winter. I've kept my eyes open for years for something similar and never found anything like it. :)

Day 139, Project 365
I think my camera or lens needs calibration...it makes me sad. So, today I tried to trick the camera by focusing elsewhere hoping to get the focus I actually wanted. Not entirely sucessful but it was worth a shot. :)

Day 137, Project 365
Took a trip out to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum with the Twin Cities Photography Group today. Still culling through pictures but I think these are a couple of my favorites from today.

Day 135, Project 365
Hadn't touched the camera all day. Got home from picking up flowers, dirt and mulch and quick snapped a picture of the back of the truck full of my goods. Nothing special. We grabbed a beer and plopped down on the front steps to just enjoy the beautiful evening for a little bit and all of a sudden I notice the different colors in the evening sky and the way the flag and tree were light up by the flag's spotlight. In the house I go to grand my camera and tripod and NOW I have today's pic. :)

Day 131 and Day132, Project 365
I've got to be honest, yesterday I was ready to call it quits on the project. I was absolutely not feeling it, not feeling very supported, in a variety of ways, and the weekend didn't feel very productive to me as far as photos. I'm feeling a 'bit' overwhelmed in realizing how much I don't know, knowing I'd like to learn but wondering when there will ever be time and wondering if I will ever get it. And if I'm even more honest, I don't feel like I've gotten over the hump yet today....all the pictures I took today were a disaster and made me want to toss my camera onto the highway (yes, I know it's likely operator error, not the camera, but still...) BUT, I am stubborn and hate to give up when I've come this far so I guess I feel like I'm at a crossroads of what to do: Is this worth it? Am I gaining anything from this? Is it causing more stress than good? It can be a little cathartic to blog here, but that's not really the point of the blog is it? I'm hoping tomorrow will have me feeling more positive...

Day 129, Project 365
Today I had the amazing opportunity to (was entrusted to, really) assist/second shoot at a wedding. This was a feat for many reasons but considering I have a huge fear of disappointing people and am pretty darn introverted this was a HUGE thing. It was a great opportunity and forced me out of my comfort zone. Of course, having a laid back photographer and an easy-going bride and groom made it far easier than I had worked myself up for. First time...lots of mistakes...lots to learn (buy waayyyy more comfortable shoes!). Looking at my pictures now, thank goodness they aren't what the couple paid for - yikes! Anyway, it was a great experience, I definitely would do it again because, hey, practice makes perfect, right?
So, here are a couple that I snapped at the wedding and then one I took at home earlier in the day.

The quality is poor...BUT I kind of got teary eyed at the happiness on the groom's face when he first saw his bride-to-be.
Sucker for flowers - these were gorgeous!
Loved how my fully blooming tree looked today with the lovely blue sky.

Day 124, Project 365
So, I anxiously waited for spring to arrive thinking (knowing) how many more picture-taking opportunities there would be. What I forgot was how much busier life gets in the warmer weather, therefore making it more difficult to post on a daily basis. I'm proud to say that one-third of the way through this project I have taken a picture (if not many, many more) every single day. :)
Here is day 124's photo:

Day 122, Project 365
Oh, I remember those days...taking the time to wash my very own car and the pride I felt. Now I know it's so much easier to bring it somewhere. ;)
